Hidrolats, eventually established under the name of Liepaja Railway Carriage Mechanical Company was first established in 1874. During Soviet time Hidrolats became one of the largest industrial companies in Liepaja, producing hydraulic cylinders for many of the Soviet agricultural and forestry machinery plants. In its best times it was employing about 2000 people and producing about 1 million hydraulic cylinders per year. After Latvia gained independence, Hidrolats was privatized in 1994. Hidrolats Serviss Ltd is one of the Hidrolats Group of companies, established in late 2001, during the process of Hidrolats after privatization restructuring. Hidrolats Serviss Ltd. initially was established as a service company for Hidrolats iron foundry, but soon after started a close co-operation with its Scandinavian partners on the casted iron parts finishing - grinding, cutting, shot-blasting and painting. Norwegian iron foundry Furnes Hamjern SSC being the first co-operation partner for Hidrolats Serviss still is one of the largest client. In 2003. Hidrolats Serviss Ltd. invested in a modern heat-treatment facility and started operations like normalizing, annealing, and hardening for iron and steel parts as well as continued with pre-heating and post-heating processing. From 2004. Hidrolats Serviss Ltd. Started its expansion in providing after-casting services for Scandinavian foundries and by now is the largest company of this kind in their region, processing iron, steel and non-ferrous metal parts from various Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and German foundries. From 2005. a new business line was initiated in the company, producing a various supplementary and service equipment for foundries from welded steel sheet and profiles: storage boxes and racks, molding frames and molding boxes, hooks and baskets for shot-blasting equipment, building elements and constructions. From 2006. Hidrolats Serviss second business line has been housed in a separate workshops and a fully equipped steel building construction production plant has been started. From then on Hidrolats Serviss Ltd. is offering in the market construction steel elements and parts for building projects and sub-contracting for steel building construction production plants in Scandinavia. In 2007. Hidrolats Serviss Ltd. grinding and cutting operations have been housed in the new spacious workshop, equipped with compressed air workshop machines. New shot-blasting equipment has been acquired and installed. |
